The original FIFA 16 may still be some time away from its official release, but it seems like fans who are currently hooked on to the previously pushed beta of the game are facing a mountain to climb, in terms of issues related to corrupted game data when downloading on the PS4.
According to EA Sports, the download data is getting corrupted for several players once PS4 enters Sleep Mode, used by many as a means to save energy.
As of now, EA has come up with a fix that involves leaving the PS4 unit running in Normal Mode and increasing the time period until the PS4 turns off, via the Power Save Settings in the Main Settings of the console.
EA says that there is a possibility of the beta download becoming corrupt if the PS4 enters rest/sleep mode. Here are the EA-provided steps to fix the problem:
You should not enter rest mode by pressing the power button on the system or by pressing the PS button on the controller and selecting rest mode.
You should ensure your Power Save Settings [Settings > Power Save Settings > Set Time Until PS4 Turns Off > General (Applications)] allow sufficient time for the download to complete or is set to Do Not Turn Off.
If the issue is encountered, hold the power button on the system until it turns off [do not tap it] then turn it back on.
We are still not sure as to what extent the above mentioned fix works, but following them will hopefully fix the FIFA 16 Beta corrupt download issues on PS4. If not, let us know in the comments section below.
As expected, FIFA 16 is currently scheduled to release on 22, September, 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
